Parachuting into France the night before D-Day, Jedburgh Team Hugh linked up with Resistance Forces anxiously waiting their arrival. Trained by the Office of Strategic Services and British Special Operations Executive, Jedburgh Teams excelled in sabotage, guerrilla warfare and communications.
Following Team Hugh, 93 other Teams would jump into France and Belgium, training the guerrillas and constantly calling in drops for arms and supplies making it almost impossible for German Forces to operate safely.
The Teams were so effective in their mission, General Eisenhower would later reflect that "In no other theater during this war, have resistance forces been so closely harnessed to the main military effort...the organized forces of the resistance, played a very considerable part in our complete and final victory."
Honoring the true fore-fathers of today's Special Forces, here's a brew for those who's normal day involves jumping behind enemy lines and standing up armies: Jedburgh's Brew!
This is a dark, French Roast blend of two South American and an Indonesian coffees resulting in a smooth, full bodied, smoky coffee with a clean but heavier after taste; excellent while one is in the woods planning a campaign to topple the enemy!
