An Air Defense Artilleryman with the 5th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery Regiment out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, SGT Brandon Maggart was a very focused and motivated soldier who was moving up the ranks very quickly but always ensured his family was placed before any major career decision. With the birth of his son Blake, Brandon was extremely proud of his family and was constantly talking with his wife Teresa about all of the things he was going to teach Blake; primarily anything to do with sports and the outdoors.
Unfortunately, days before coming home on leave from his second deployment, Brandon was killed in Basra, Iraq on August 22, 2010 during a rocket attack on his compound.
Just as Brandon was very proud of his wife and son, Teresa and Blake were extremely proud to to help create this blend. It reminds Teresa of the time Brandon introduced her to coffee and picking out the right blend for his Dad’s Memorial Brew was the first time Blake ever drank coffee.
This blend is a very smooth brew mixing the bright, lighter flavors of Central and South American coffees with a nice, full bodied high quality African bean. The goal was to roast a balanced coffee that would brew into both an easy drinking morning coffee but could also make a great White Chocolate Mocha, the first drink Brandon introduced to Teresa.
In honor of Brandon Maggart’s intent on teaching Blake as much as he could about sports and outdoor activities, a portion of every sale will be put toward a fund to provide for Blake’s continued participation in sports and outdoor events.
