Saint Elijah the Prophet is considered a central figure in the preservation of the worship of Yahweh by his zealous defense of the faith. Opposing the spread of the worship of a false deity, Elijah shut heaven and caused a draught for three and a half years to show the sign of God’s judgement on King Ahab and Queen Jezebel and leading Israel to apostasy. He later demonstrated the power of God on Mount Carmel by calling fire down from heaven to consume his sacrifice proving the supremacy of the Lord over Baal.

Being called to heaven, he anointed Elisha as his successor and was carried up to heaven in a whirlwind and a chariot of fire. He later appeared with Moses, and was witnessed by Peter, James and John speaking to Christ during the transfiguration.

Known for his unwavering faith, miracles and a great prophet pointing to the Messiah, he is also seen as the forerunner of Saint John the Baptist. Linked to the Carmelite Order and the Brown Scapular due to the brown color of his tunic, he is the patron saint of that order.

Our darkest roast, recalling the fire God sent down responding to Elisha’s prayers, this blend’s smoky and flavorful profile will bring forth your focus and energy when you respond to your family’s and daily demands.
